Our People
Isobel Willmot - Managing Director
Isobel has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Canterbury University majoring in Physics. She also trained as Secondary School Teacher and graduated with Distinction from Christchurch Teachers College. She taught for a number of years until she moved into a solution sales position. Isobel has around ten years experience in the recruitment industry and really enjoys the mix of people interaction and analysis the industry requires.
Over the last ten years Isobel has brought her skills to bear on setting up and developing the processes the team uses during the recruitment cycle. She has the overall view of quality assurance as Searchworks aims to meet the client needs as closely as possible.
Additionally Isobel has excellent analytical capabilities and enjoys the challenge of learning about her client's business requirements. Though she enjoys managing the team and the business, Isobel is actively involved in recruitment herself and thoroughly enjoys the process. She works across the board in all areas of recruitment and has an excellent history of delivering successful results.
Chris Kennedy - Consultant
Chris has been a professional sales person across a range of industries (finance, radio, agriculture and real estate) and has a demonstrated history of success in relationship based sales. After a period on the Gold Coast, Australia, Chris returned to Wellington last year to be close to family and friends. In his time at Searchworks he has demonstrated his ability to get to grips with our client's requirements and understand their business needs. He has successfully delivered many recruitment assignments including bulk assignments. True to his ability to straddle industries, Chris has enjoyed recruiting candidates in the IT industry and he also focuses on accounting and engineering roles. He has recently demonstrated success in policy analyst roles as well. He has enthusiastically taken on the challenge of learning about different areas of recruitment and has shown his ability to step up to the mark. Chris has great determination and will scour the market to find the ideal candidate. He has been a great asset to the team since he joined us early in 2008
Hamish McEwan - Senior Consultant
Hamish is an accomplished Project Manager originally specialising in telecommunications and in recent years has broadened his experience into the IT space. He is well known as an expert on the Internet and has a fortnightly spot on Radio New Zealand where he discusses trends and fads in ICT.
Hamish first joined Searchworks Ltd in 2005 and was a full time consultant for 2 ½ years. He then took up an interesting contract assignment at the Ministry of Economic Development managing multiple projects in the Radio Spectrum Policy and Planning Group. Having completed that assignment, Hamish has returned to Searchworks and we really appreciate his contribution. In addition to being fun to have around, Hamish is especially strong in IT and Telco assignments and his previous experience means he has a good understanding of policy analysis and other government sector roles. He too enjoys turning his hand to all areas of recruitment. Hervé Thevenon - Consultant
Hervé is an Enterprise Architect and IT Consultant with a Masters Degree in Computer Science and Advanced Technologies. Currently he provides Information System Strategic Plans and other consulting services to a range of private clients. Additionally Hervé undertakes recruitment assignments for Searchworks on an as needs basis, with a special focus in technical IT roles. He has been associated with Searchworks as a Consultant since early 2008 and first became interested in recruitment as an IT Project Manager in Cap Gemini (Paris) where he managed some very large scale recruitment projects.
Hervé really enjoyed the challenge of locating the right person with the personality mix and high level technical skills that Cap Gemini demanded as all their people deal directly with clients. Consequently he has been an ideal addition to our team. His strong technical skills in IT infrastructure along with his analytical ability has been extremely valuable in IT and knowledge management assignments in particular.
Virginia Ng - Office Manager
Virginia is our Office Manager and is responsible for the overall general administration as well as handling the accounting functions for the company. This entails preparing the monthly reports, cash flow etc. and organising Board meetings with the Managing Director and our Accountant. In addition, she looks after our database, liaises with candidates and assists the Consultants in preparation of reports and any other documentation required. In other words, she is a really dependable and essential member of the team.
Always pleasant to deal with, Virginia has worked in Administration for a number of years, and prior to joining Searchworks, she worked for a Software house in Hong Kong.
